Never Again! The Mitzvah of Civil Disobedience.

In Deuteronomy, Torah instructs us: "Justice, justice, shall you pursue.” In tractate Nedarim, the Talmud states that we are to, “Obey the law of the land." What is a Jew then to do if the law of the land is unjust? Both sacred text and Henry David Thoreau's "Civil Disobedience" make it clear that non-violent resistance is not only permissible, but also demanded, if we really believe the mantra of "Never Again!" This presentation involves storytelling, imagery, music, philosophy and vigorous discussion.
