Dr. Marsha B. Cohen is a writer, lecturer and has been a teacher for the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School since 1998. She received her BA in Ancient, Medieval and Political Philosophy from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and her PhD in International Relations from Florida International University, where she taught International Relations for over a decade. Dr. Cohen has also taught mini-courses and workshops nationally and internationally at the Conference on Alternatives in Jewish Education, several National Havurah Institutes, the Chautauqua Institution and Limmud UK. In 2015, she was flown to Tokyo to address the Japanese Institute of Energy Security on US foreign policy in the Middle East. She is the co-author (with Herbert W. Basser) of The Gospel of Matthew and Judaic Traditions: A Relevance-Based Commentary (Brill 2015), which explores the midrash and halachic debates taking place among Jews during the first century CE and their use by early Christians in proselytizing to Jews.
